ASSIGNMENT
There is one assignment to be handed in and it is compulsory.
This assignment is meant to be a learning device as well as being an assessment task and a reasonable attempt to each question is expected. It is not worthwhile to copy the solutions from somebody else. You should ensure however that you take careful note of any solutions provided in the practical sessions.
Late assignments will not be accepted for credit without an appropriate medical certificate written on the Professional Authority Form.
NON-SUBMISSION OF EITHER OF THIS ASSIGNMENT COULD RESULT IN A FAIL GRADE BEING RECORDED.
ASSESSMENT
The assessment for this unit will consist of three components:
- A mid-semester exam to be held during the lecture starting at 6.10pm on
Monday 7 April 2003. This exam is worth 15% of the total unit assessment and will cover lecture material up to and including the end of Week 4. This exam will be one hour and ten minutes long and you will only be able to bring in one sheet (1 sided) of handwritten notes. No other material is allowed. You should also bring your calculator and writing materials.
- One assignment worth 15% of the unit assessment. It will be marked and returned during the practical sessions where the solutions will be discussed.
- A final examination that is worth 70% of the total unit assessment and will include material from all sections of the unit, including Gambling, Sport and Medicine. Note that, in order to pass the unit, a satisfactory performance is expected in the final examination, irrespective of your performance in the other components.
